Bashir Ahmad, a former aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, has taken aim at Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, following Obi’s recent visit to join Muslims in breaking their Ramadan fast on Monday, March 18.
After his mosque visit, Obi shared on his social media platform that his participation was a way for him “to fulfill a sacred duty in accordance with the Ramadan season.”
He posted: “I had the privilege of journeying to Lafia in Nasarawa state, where I had the honor of meeting with the Emir of Lafia, Honorable Justice Sidi Bage Muhammad JSC Rtd, a highly respected leader, and also paid my respects to Governor Abdullahi Sule.
“This visit was more than a customary gesture; it was a sincere demonstration of my profound respect and unwavering solidarity with the community,” Obi expressed.
