Police Bring Two Suspects To Court For Conspiring To Abduct Governor Diri’s Sibling

The accused individuals, Lucky Oghenebrume (53) and Omobowho Okpowodo (52), were apprehended by the Operation Puff Adder unit in November 2023 at Mbiama community in Rivers, according to police reports. The arrests were made possible through intelligence gathering and meticulous investigations.

During the court proceedings at the Kaima High Court with suit number BYH/KHC/CR/2/2024, the two suspects pleaded not guilty. The police prosecutor alleged that Oghenebrume was the mastermind and was on the wanted list of the State Police Command for his alleged involvement in the abduction of one Fyneman in Sagbama, where a ransom of N50 million was paid.

Oghenebrume, described as a resident of Mbiama community, was said to reside alone in a large compound where he allegedly carried out the crime. To avoid detection, he reportedly relocated his family to Delta State.

The second suspect, Omobowho Okpowodo, was identified as the owner of a motor mechanic workshop where the targeted victim had his vehicles repaired. The police claimed that Okpowodo was overheard planning to abduct Ayama on his way from Ekeremor Local Government Area.
