The pair were abducted from their home in Gusau, Zamfara State, on July 14, 2024, and have been held for nearly four weeks. In a widely shared video, Pastor Andrew has appealed to Nigeria’s First Lady, Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu, and other concerned Nigerians to assist in meeting the captors’ demands for their release.

The kidnappers have given an ultimatum, requiring the payment of N6 million, two boxer motorcycles, and one Honda motorcycle by this Saturday or the following Thursday. They have threatened to marry off Pastor Andrew’s daughter if the demands are not met.

Pastor Andrew disclosed that his family had previously managed to raise N6 million after selling their possessions and receiving help from generous individuals. Despite this payment, the kidnappers are insisting on additional money and motorcycles before they will release the chaplain and his daughter.

The pastor has also reported that his daughter has been mistreated during their captivity, which has heightened his call for urgent assistance. Additionally, Pastor Andrew, who suffers from diabetes, is worried that his extended time in captivity is deteriorating his health.

Initially, the kidnappers demanded N60 million, but Pastor Andrew’s wife successfully negotiated it down to N6 million.
