According to DAILY POST, the attack took place around 11 p.m. The assailants, who arrived in a vehicle, initially sent one of their members to pose as a customer seeking to withdraw money. As Faithy prepared to close his shop, three masked individuals emerged and fired at him. Though the shots did not hit him, Faithy attempted to flee but was eventually caught and killed under the Kuto Bridge.

A community source suggested that the same gang might be responsible for a recent similar killing of a barber at Isale Oja Kuto, noting that the attackers used a similar jeep.

Faithy was laid to rest on Saturday at 2 p.m. In response, Commissioner of Police Abiodun Alamutu confirmed awareness of both incidents and assured that efforts to apprehend those responsible are underway.
