The exercise took place on Saturday at the APC ward secretariat, which also happens to be the home ward of the Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin.

In a statement issued by his media aide, Ismail Mudashir, Barau described the turnout of party members as a strong indication of support ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He expressed optimism, saying: “With the massive turnout of party members, Insha Allah, the coast is clear for the victory of President Tinubu come January 16th, 2027, when the Independent National Electoral Commission will conduct the presidential and National Assembly elections.”

According to the statement, the returning officer, Umar Mohammadu Rabiu, declared Tinubu winner after defeating his sole opponent, Osifo Osayamen Stanley, who reportedly received zero votes.

Rabiu also noted that three out of 1,007 registered voters in the ward did not participate in the exercise, adding that the process was peaceful and orderly.

Following the primary, Senator Barau thanked APC members for their large turnout and disciplined conduct during the exercise.

The Chairman of Kabo Local Government Area, Lawal Najume, also praised the process and expressed confidence in the APC’s prospects ahead of the 2027 elections.
