In a statement by his Senior Special Adviser, Hector Igbikiowubo, Ibas briefed CAN on his mandate: to restore law and order in Rivers State, stabilize the political climate, and pave the way for the return of democratic governance.

Since taking office on March 20, 2025, Ibas has engaged with civil society groups, traditional rulers, and local government officials to rebuild trust and foster cooperation.

He urged CAN to use its influence to preach peace, promote unity across ethnic and political divides, and encourage forgiveness and reconciliation.

“The unity of the church is the foundation for the unity of the state. When the church leads with love, the people will follow in peace,” Ibas stated.
