President Bola Tinubu has underscored Nigeria’s determination to cease food imports, emphasizing his administration’s commitment to agricultural investment for increased domestic production. The declaration came during a meeting with the Forum of State Chairmen of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the State House in Abuja.

Addressing the challenges confronting the nation, Tinubu remarked that the ongoing food crisis presents an opportunity for transformation. He outlined efforts to prioritize mechanized farming and the distribution of fertilizers to farmers, asserting that agriculture and economic diversification hold the key to addressing Nigeria’s issues. Tinubu affirmed, “We will not continue to import food. We know how to turn lack into abundance, and the world will watch us do it again.”

Expanding on his government’s anti-corruption initiatives, Tinubu acknowledged the resistance expected from individuals who profited from past petrol subsidy schemes. He assured Nigerians of relentless efforts to improve their standard of living while urging grassroots leaders to encourage National Identification Number (NIN) registration for effective governance and social integration.

Highlighting the importance of economic revitalization, Tinubu urged party members to champion good governance and civic engagement. He disclosed plans for comprehensive livestock farming initiatives to be rolled out soon.

Furthermore, Tinubu stressed the necessity of NIN registration for social security interventions, emphasizing the government’s commitment to protecting citizens’ interests. He called upon APC state chairmen to educate citizens, particularly those lacking awareness of NIN benefits, and underscored the role of accurate data in implementing effective interventions.

Tinubu concluded by affirming the government’s dedication to serving the people and safeguarding national resources, urging collective efforts in advancing Nigeria’s socio-economic development.
