Primate Elijah Ayodele, the Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, strongly condemned the recent attack in Delta state where three officers and twelve soldiers were killed by irate youths. He described the incident as a civilian coup against the military and emphasized its negative implications for Nigeria’s security.
The soldiers, part of the 181 Amphibious Battalion deployed to quell clashes between communities, were tragically murdered during their peacekeeping mission in the Okuoma community. Among the casualties were a Commanding Officer, two majors, one captain, and twelve soldiers.
In a statement released through his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, Primate Ayodele expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and denounced the brutality of the attack. He stressed the need for swift action by the Nigerian military to apprehend the perpetrators and ensure they face justice.
Primate Ayodele called upon the military to respond decisively to such acts of violence, emphasizing the importance of protecting those who serve to safeguard the nation.
