Professor Uju Anya, a Nigerian living in the US, thanked Nigerians on Twitter for sticking with her after her post to Queen Elizabeth received conflicting responses from individuals all over the world.
The Queen was referred to as the “head monarch of a thieving raping murderous empire” by Uju on Twitter shortly after it was revealed that her health was failing before her death last week. She continued by expressing her tremendous anguish.
The professor tweeted;
“I have heard that the thieving, raping, genocidal empire’s supreme emperor is finally passing away. May her suffering be unbearable.
I want my anger for her could have the same impact on her that her monarchy did on my people.
Her tweet elicited a range of responses, with some people praising her and others criticizing her.
She thanked Nigerians for supporting her on Twitter this morning and revealed that she is still gay. Below is her tweet.
Twitter, good morning. +234 You have my sincere gratitude for riding especially hard for me. When my fellow Nigerians, especially those in and from Alaigbo, saw how much I loved you, they returned my affection. Together, we shared our suffering and shared our history with the world. I’m grateful.
