According to his sister Tamara Powell on Instagram, R&B star Jesse Powell has passed away.

Jesse Powell, who was adored as a son, brother, and uncle, died quietly at his Los Angeles home, according to a statement released by his family.

R&B singer Jesse Powell has passed away, according to his sister Tamara Powell via Instagram. “The family asks for privacy at this time as we mourn the tremendous loss and celebrate his everlasting legacy. Jesse loved music and he especially loved his fans who supported him throughout his career. We want you all to know that you meant the world to him.”

“We announce the demise of our cherished son, brother, and father with a broken heart.

The cause of his death and the precise date of his passing are unknown at this time.

Jesse was 51.

Jesse was one of the musicians that contributed to the 1990s mainstreaming of modern R&B.

After joining Silas/MCA in the middle of the 1990s and putting out his self-titled first album, he established himself in the R&B scene. The album’s lead single was “All I Need.”

When his second album, “‘Bout It,” was published in 1998, it quickly rose to the status of his most commercially successful effort. He got a number one single with the song “You” and another with the song “I Wasn’t with It.”

After that, Jesse put out two more albums before fading from view.
