Sharing his thoughts on the matter, Omokri remarked, “Targeted By Unknown Gunmen Just Because He Is Yoruba Like Tinubu? Where Is Our Humanity in Nigeria?” He expressed admiration for the bravery displayed by Oladeji, who did not renounce his ethnic roots even when faced with death. Shifting his focus to Oby Ezekwesili, he questioned her silence on the issue, implying a bias. Omokri challenged, “Have you seen the video of Abioye Oladeji? Do you think @obyezeks would have been silent up until now if this occurred in the Southwest and someone was threatened because he was not Yoruba?”

The call-out seemed to be a prompt for Ezekwesili and others to speak up about injustices, irrespective of where they occur or who the victims are.
