Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, took a stand against misinformation surrounding Nigeria’s #COP28 delegation, criticizing figures like Sowore and Peter Obi for spreading falsehoods about the government’s involvement. During an interview on TVC, Omokri vehemently debunked the allegations of the Nigerian government sponsoring over a thousand people to Dubai for the climate summit. CONTINUE READING
In a tweet, he emphasized, “I was just interviewed on TVC, where I proved beyond any reasonable doubt that both @PeterObi and @SaharaReporters are liars.” Omokri clarified that anyone could register for #COP28 and become a delegate for Nigeria, dispelling claims that the government funded 1411 delegates.
In his words, “Anybody who registers with a Nigerian passport is regarded as a delegate from Nigeria. But that does not automatically mean that they are representing the Nigerian government.” He highlighted that most Nigerian delegates were from the private sector, and attendees could participate remotely from their country of residence.
