Omokri shared his observations from his travels, stating that Ghanaian women are perceived to be more relatable and less money-conscious than their Southern Nigerian counterparts. He argued that in Southern Nigeria, expressions of love are often associated with financial obligations, and when men say “I love you,” some women interpret it as an indication of financial responsibility.

According to Omokri, the phenomenon of “Industrial Money Obtainer” culture among Southern Nigerian women can lead to excessive financial expectations, making relationships economically burdensome for men. He cautioned against marrying women with this mindset, predicting that the financial demands would become industrialized, extending to the care of the woman’s entire family without expecting gratitude.

Omokri also touched on the impact of travel on Southern Nigerian men’s preferences, suggesting that encounters with women from other countries, who are less money-conscious, may influence their attitudes towards relationships. He argued that if Nigeria had easier access to visa-free or visa-on-arrival arrangements with more countries, there might be an increase in unmarried women in the country.

In conclusion, Omokri called for cultural reorientation among Southern Nigerian women, emphasizing the need to address the perceived commercialization of romance in the region. He described the monetization of relationships in Southern Nigeria as “suffocating” and urged a change in mindset.
