Dr. Alausa recalled the Vice President’s concern about approaching Bishop Kukah, acknowledging his busy schedule. “Bishop Kukah is a very busy man, and the Vice President was initially hesitant, knowing the weight of responsibility on him,” he stated.

Quoting Shettima’s words, Alausa shared, “Bishop Kukah has immense respect for me. Whenever I call on him for service, he never refuses. Though I know he is already stretched to the limit, for the love of this country, I will ask him to take on this role, and I am confident he won’t say no.”

True to expectations, Bishop Kukah agreed to serve, responding, “Yes, I will do it,” according to Dr. Alausa.

The Minister praised Bishop Kukah for his unwavering commitment to education and national service despite his numerous engagements.

The event was graced by several dignitaries, including Chief of Defense Staff, General Christopher Musa, and Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Qurix Williams Barnabas. General Musa, an indigene of Zangon Kataf, Southern Kaduna, assured that the Nigerian military would provide maximum security to ensure a safe learning environment for students and staff.
