Sabinus Reveals Why Port Harcourt Remains His Top Location for Shooting Skits
Nigerian comedian and content creator Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Ejekwu, popularly known as Sabinus, has explained why he continues to shoot most of his comedy skits in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, despite being based in Lagos.
According to Bush Radio Academy, Sabinus made the revelation during a recent interview with media personality VJ Adams, where he discussed his approach to creating comedy content and his connection to Port Harcourt.
The comedian explained that his decision to shoot his skits in Port Harcourt is largely influenced by the type of storylines and characters featured in his content. He said the environment provides a setting that fits the style of comedy he has developed over the years.
Sabinus noted that although he lives in Lagos and spends considerable time there handling other activities and building professional connections, he regularly travels to Port Harcourt specifically to produce his skits.
“All my comedy skits I shoot them in Port Harcourt, but I base in Lagos even till now. I have a time I normally go to shoot, then I come back to Lagos to enjoy my life, then do some connections, but my skit shoot goes down in Port Harcourt because of my kind of storyline,” he said.
The comedian’s comments highlight the continued influence of Port Harcourt on his creative work, even as Lagos serves as his current base.
Sabinus, who has built a strong following through comedy skits centred on everyday Nigerian experiences, distinctive characters and relatable situations, has maintained Port Harcourt as an important part of his content production process.
