Sextortion Scandal Rocks Benue: Governor Alia Suspends Top Aide Over Explosive Blackmail Allegations

Aondona was reportedly apprehended over serious allegations, including sextortion, cyberbullying, and blackmail.
In a statement released on Sunday and signed by the Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, Governor Alia announced the immediate and indefinite suspension of the aide, pending the outcome of investigations.
Describing the situation as highly disturbing, Governor Alia emphasized that his administration will not protect any appointee involved in criminal or unethical behavior.
“This administration stands on the pillars of integrity and discipline,” the statement declared. “Any official found engaging in misconduct that damages the image of the government or undermines public confidence will face the consequences.”
The governor reaffirmed his commitment to transparency and accountability, stressing that all public officials must uphold the highest moral and ethical standards.
He also restated his government’s dedication to defending the rights and dignity of all citizens, especially women and vulnerable populations, and pledged full cooperation with relevant law enforcement agencies to ensure justice is upheld.
The suspended adviser is expected to cooperate fully with the EFCC and undergo legal proceedings without any interference from the state government.
