Sani pointed out the inconsistency in the response of northerners, asserting that those who are now speaking out were conspicuously quiet from 2015 to 2023, presumably because Buhari, the then-president, belonged to their region. The former senator emphasized that many northerners chose to overlook the escalating bloodshed and kidnappings in the North during Buhari’s eight-year rule.

According to the activist, the total casualties during Buhari’s government amounted to a staggering 63,111. Sani lamented how certain individuals stayed silent, disregarding the loss of lives and abductions, while fervently defending the administration. He criticized their prioritization of allegiance to the president over the well-being of their fellow citizens, highlighting their sudden vocalization now that the current president is not from their region.
