When questioned about the involvement of individuals such as Atiku Abubakar, Rabiu Kwankwaso, Peter Obi, and Okey Nwosu, Utomi affirmed their collaboration. However, he refrained from revealing the chosen name for the coalition, emphasizing that discussions on the matter had not yet taken place. Utomi clarified that beyond political figures, the alliance would also involve leaders from social movements, labor unions, and other groups committed to specific values, such as anti-corruption.

Utomi underscored the need for a fresh start, asserting that Nigeria has lacked a genuine political party since 1999. He criticized the prevailing political landscape, describing it as a platform for machine politics geared toward capturing power rather than serving the interests of the people. The political class, according to Utomi, failed to align with the Nigerian populace to enhance their quality of life, resulting in the country’s decline into poverty and widespread violence.

Drawing a comparison with India, Utomi pointed out that Nigeria’s trajectory has been regressive, while India has successfully focused on the rational engagement of a developmental state. He urged political scientists and economists to assess the contrast between Nigeria and India in terms of political stability, quality of life, and economic development since 1999.

The interview also highlighted that the All Progressives Congress (APC) was formed in 2013 through a coalition of various political parties, including the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), and a segment of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA).
