Mourners and onlookers lined the streets of Owo as dignitaries from various states made their way to The Cathedral Church of Saint Andrew, the venue for the funeral service.

A guard of honour, composed of officers from the Amotekun Corps, ushered in the remains of Akeredolu into the church around 9:55 am. The late governor will find his final resting place near his Maranatha residence at the Government Reserved Area, GRA, Owo.

Akeredolu, who served as the Chancellor of the Owo Anglican Diocese until his demise, will be remembered for his contributions to the state. The funeral service attracted a significant turnout of political and influential figures, marking a solemn moment for the community and the nation at large.
