Shocking: Police Officers Demand Bribe To Investigate Missing Child In Ogun

Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the arrest in a Saturday post on X.com, although the identities of the involved officers were not disclosed.
Adejobi condemned the officers’ behavior, calling it “inhuman, apathetic, and unprofessional,” and assured the public that disciplinary actions would be taken.
His statement read, “The policemen who demanded money before investigating the case of the missing girl in Otta have been arrested and are currently in detention for disciplinary action. We strongly condemn this act and will not tolerate such behavior. It is inhumane, insensitive, and unprofessional.
“The Ogun State Police Command is actively working on the case, and we are committed to finding the girl as soon as possible. We also urge the victim’s family to cooperate with the police.”
Adejobi reiterated the command’s commitment to locating the missing child and urged the family to work closely with law enforcement.
According to The PUNCH, the seven-year-old girl, daughter of a point-of-sale operator, was allegedly abducted by a regular customer of her mother. The man, after buying food for the girl, sent her on an errand to buy water but failed to return with her.
When the mother reported the incident to the police, she was allegedly asked to pay ₦10,000 to file the case and another ₦30,000 to trace the suspect’s phone number.
