Biafran advocate Simon Ekpa has laid out his conditions, stating he will not heed the call from the embattled leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, to halt the “sit-at-home” orders in South-Eastern Nigeria unless they meet face to face in Finland. CONTINUE READING
Last week, Kanu, who is currently detained by the Department of State Services (DSS), released a letter appealing for the cessation of the sit-at-home orders in the region. This appeal was confirmed by the IPOB as being from Kanu.
In response, Ekpa, a known follower of Kanu, publicly shared his conditions for compliance with this request. He insists that he will only pay heed to such a directive after a face-to-face meeting with Kanu in Finland, where Ekpa currently resides. CONTINUE READING
Ekpa stated, “I will not listen to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, from DSS, from Hospital or from Nigeria. I will not talk to him on the phone, on a video call, on television call, or internet call. I want to talk with him one-on-one in Finland. Anything less than this, sit back and see how Nigeria’s collapse will start in the coming days. I am here to liberate Biafra, and I don’t expect political criminals to be part of the liberation. When India fought Britain, they also suffered, none of them lamented about Gandhi. You must be ready to complete this sacrifice to the last minute.”
Earlier this week, Nigeria’s Senate President Akpabio accused Ekpa of effectively acting as the Governor of South-East Nigeria, due to the region’s obedience to the sit-at-home orders imposed by Ekpa.
