Speaking during a special reception in Ewatto, Esan South East Local Government Area of Edo State, following his recent victory at the election petition tribunal, Okpebholo expressed deep gratitude to the people of Edo for their continued support and prayers, acknowledging their trust in his leadership.
He assured the citizens that his administration would bring about progress and development in Edo State.
“The people of Edo State will not regret voting for me as their Governor. I am thrilled to be part of a winning party—a party that was once rejected by all but has now become the one everyone wants to join. The APC is here to stay, especially with the government at the center being APC,” Okpebholo stated.
He further predicted a major shift in the South-South political landscape, saying, “Very soon, we will witness significant defections into the APC. People from the PDP, LP, and other opposition parties will join our ranks, marking the beginning of the South-South’s alignment with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s reform agenda.”
Okpebholo also expressed pride in his relationship with the President, declaring, “Today, I am proud to say that I am a son of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. I am blessed with uncommon grace and transformation, which I am using to develop Edo State.”
He emphasized that his words were prophetic and integral to the development of the state, adding, “My administration is committed to ensuring motorable roads and reducing travel time for our people. Our development efforts will also benefit neighboring states, as the South-South must speak with one voice as we approach 2027.”
The statement was made available to Naija News by Okpebholo’s Chief Press Secretary, Fred Itua.
