Tanzania Coach Names 24-Man Squad Ahead Of Double-Header Against Super Eagles
Tanzania’s national football team, the Taifa Stars, are expected to arrive in Uyo on Sunday ahead of their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against Nigeria’s Super Eagles.
The early arrival is expected to give head coach Miguel Gamondi sufficient time to prepare his players for the crucial encounter against the Nigerian side.
Gamondi has already invited 24 players to the team’s training camp ahead of the double-header between both countries.
The squad comprises 12 locally based players and 12 professionals playing for clubs outside Tanzania, as the coach looks to assemble a competitive team for the two fixtures.
Nigeria are scheduled to host the Taifa Stars at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Friday, November 13.
Both teams will meet again four days later in the return fixture, scheduled to take place in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, as the race for qualification for the 2027 AFCON continues.
The two encounters are expected to be important for both countries as they seek to strengthen their positions in the qualifying campaign.
