Teni Reveals How She Was F!red From Two Nanny Jobs In Less Than A Week
Nigerian singer Teniola Apata, popularly known as Teni, has recounted how she lost two nanny jobs within a few days, revealing that shyness and her inability to prepare certain meals contributed to her unsuccessful experiences.
According to Bush Radio Academy, the singer shared the experience during an interview on Queen’s Mic, where she disclosed that she did not spend up to one week in either of the two jobs she secured before her music career gained prominence.
Teni explained that her shyness affected her performance at work, while her second experience ended after she claimed she could cook several meals during the application process but struggled when asked to demonstrate those skills.
According to the singer, her second nanny job was with a female doctor whose husband was Nigerian. During the application, she listed dishes such as jollof rice and fries among the meals she could prepare, apparently expecting that the information would help her secure the position.
However, she said she was surprised when her employer eventually asked her to cook, leaving her unable to meet the expectations she had created during the application process.
Recounting the incident, Teni admitted that the meal she prepared was unsatisfactory, resulting in the termination of her employment.
She said the experience was particularly frustrating because she had voluntarily sought employment to earn extra money while still in school, despite her parents not pressuring her to get a job.
The singer recalled becoming upset after losing the opportunity, questioning why her efforts to earn additional income had ended in repeated disappointment.
Teni’s account offered a glimpse into the challenges she experienced before achieving fame in the Nigerian music industry, highlighting how her shyness and an unsuccessful attempt to present herself as a capable cook contributed to the loss of both jobs.
