Tension In Labour Party! Obi’s Spokesman Tanko Reacts As Obidient Movement Director Steps Down
National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, Yunusa Tanko, has acknowledged the recent resignation of the Director of Mobilisation, Morris Monye, along with several other interim appointees.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Monye, in a personally signed statement, accused former presidential candidate Peter Obi of abandoning the movement, alleging that there had been no communication between Obi and the Obidient structure.
He cited the movement’s unfulfilled objectives, lack of organisation, and personal harassment as reasons for stepping down. Monye added that despite his passion and financial contributions to promoting Obi’s presidential ambition, the movement’s poor showing in the recent Anambra election made his continued service “untenable.”
In a statement issued on Saturday, Tanko expressed appreciation to all outgoing members for their contributions to what he described as a shared mission to rescue Nigeria from “bankrupt politics.”
He said, “We encourage everyone to remain steadfast and continue contributing positively to the process of renewal and growth. Together, we will emerge stronger and more united in the pursuit of a new Nigeria.
“As a movement, we will keep raising the bar of civic participation and will not indulge in activities that undermine the nation, such as spying, bigotry, or thuggery.
“Following due consultation, we will soon announce the next steps to position the Obidient Movement as the vanguard of national redemption and transformation. Let us remain committed to the mission.”
