Tension In Universities As JAMB Fixes Hard Deadline For 2025 Admissions
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has directed all tertiary institutions in Nigeria to complete the 2025 admission process before the end of the year.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
According to the board, public universities must finalize admissions by October 31, 2025, while private universities have until November 30, 2025. All other institutions—both public and private—are required to wrap up by December 31, 2025.
This directive was contained in JAMB’s weekly bulletin released on Monday, in line with resolutions reached at the 2025 Policy Meeting chaired by the Minister of Education.
The board explained that the move is designed to stabilise Nigeria’s academic calendar and ensure equal access to admission opportunities across institutions. It further instructed schools that may not yet be ready to begin a new academic session to conclude admissions and archive them.
JAMB also emphasized that institutions conducting post-UTME screenings must finish the exercise on time to avoid disrupting the 2025 admission schedule.
