The Federal High Court in Maitama, Abuja, has scheduled June 9, 2026, for judgment in the fraud trial involving former Minister of Power, Saleh Mamman.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Justice James Omotosho fixed the date when the matter came up on Thursday, April 23, in the ongoing case brought by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Mamman is facing a 12-count charge bordering on alleged conspiracy and money laundering involving over ₦33.8 billion.
During proceedings, defence counsel Femi Atteh (SAN) informed the court that the defendant had filed his final written address, along with a reply to the prosecution’s submissions, urging the court to discharge and acquit Mamman.
On the other hand, prosecution counsel Rotimi Oyedepo (SAN) told the court the EFCC had also filed its final written address and asked the court to convict the former minister on all counts. He argued that evidence presented before the court, including testimonies about the movement of funds through a Bureau de Change and alleged cash deliveries linked to the defendant, supported the prosecution’s case.
Following submissions from both sides, Justice Omotosho adjourned the matter to June 9 for judgment.
