A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has raised an alarm over alleged plots to frame Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, with false accusations to block his return to office.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

In a statement released on Tuesday in Port Harcourt, Eze strongly criticized what he described as a deliberate campaign of misinformation orchestrated by loyalists of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, to tarnish the Governor’s reputation.

Eze cited a recent press briefing by former Rivers State Head of Service, George Nwaeke, as part of this alleged smear campaign. During the briefing, Nwaeke claimed that Governor Fubara was behind the burning of the State Assembly Complex—allegedly carried out through his Chief of Staff, Edison Ehie, and former Obio/Akpor Council Chairman, Chijioke Ihunwo.

Nwaeke also blamed Fubara for escalating political tensions in the state and commended President Bola Tinubu for the introduction of emergency rule in Rivers.

However, in a surprising turn, Nwaeke’s wife publicly refuted his claims, alleging that her husband was pressured into making the statements. She revealed that he had been summoned to Abuja by a known Wike ally, Ogidi, a Commissioner at the National Population Commission. She further disclosed that Nwaeke had resigned from his role after declining to endorse a document falsely accusing Fubara of a $15 billion fraud.

Eze condemned the situation, accusing Wike of undermining the reconciliation efforts led by President Tinubu and pursuing a personal agenda to ensure Governor Fubara is permanently removed from office.

He alleged that the Sole Administrator had been assigned a fresh directive to flood the media with fabricated allegations against Fubara, thereby sabotaging any chances of his reinstatement.

“With George Nwaeke’s unhealthy grudge against the Governor, there is ample evidence that the Sole Administrator is working under a new directive—to unleash a barrage of false narratives against Governor Fubara, fully backed by media support. If we remain silent and allow this injustice to succeed, it will be a disgrace to us all,” Eze concluded.
