During a recent interview on Arise TV, Morka stated that Peter Obi had “crossed the line so many times” and would have to “manage whatever he gets.” The Obidient Movement, in a statement signed by Yunusa Tanko, described Morka’s comments as a direct threat to Obi’s life and the stability of Nigeria.

The statement warned that Morka’s remarks signal a troubling descent into authoritarianism under President Bola Tinubu’s administration. “Such a declaration from the spokesperson of the ruling party is reckless, unbecoming, and a blatant endorsement of violence,” the statement read.

The movement demanded clarity on the alleged “line” Peter Obi had crossed, questioning who defined it, under what authority, and what actions or statements by Obi justified Morka’s comments.

“What exactly is ‘coming to Peter Obi’?” the movement asked, accusing the Tinubu administration of favoring repression over dialogue, intimidation over engagement, and threats over democratic discourse.

The Obidient Movement issued a categorical warning: “If any harm befalls Mr. Peter Obi, his family, or anyone associated with him, the Nigerian government and its agents will be held directly responsible.”

The statement further called on Nigerians and the international community to take note of what it described as a pattern of repression by the ruling party and to hold those in power accountable.

It also urged security agencies to investigate Morka’s comments seriously, stating, “We urge the security services not to sweep such threats under the carpet as they have in the past, but to engage Mr. Morka for an explanation.”

Earlier, Peter Obi had raised concerns about threats to his life, citing his criticism of President Tinubu’s administration as the reason.
