President Bola Tinubu administered the oath of office to Olayinka Oladunjoye as a federal commissioner of the National Population Commission (NPC) on Monday. The swearing-in ceremony took place prior to the commencement of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the Council Chamber of the State House in Abuja.

Before this appointment, Oladunjoye served as the former commissioner of education and commerce and cooperatives in Lagos State. He assumed the position, succeeding Mrs. Bimbo Salu-Hudeyin, who recently received an appointment from the Lagos state government.

In his pledge after the swearing-in, Oladunjoye expressed commitment to collaborate with various stakeholders, particularly in the field of technology, to enhance a more robust, data-driven census.

As of the time of this report, President Tinubu is presiding over the current week’s FEC meeting, attended by key officials such as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) George Akume, Chief of Staff to the President Femi Gbajabiamila, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, Head of the Civil Service of the Federation Dr. Folashade Yemi-Esan, ministers, and other government officials.
