Tinubu And Wife Set For Three-Day State Visit To France This WednesdayPresident Bola Tinubu will depart Abuja on Wednesday for a three-day state visit to France, in response to an invitation from French President Emmanuel Macron, according to a statement from Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

The visit aims to strengthen Nigeria’s political, economic, and cultural ties with France, with a particular focus on enhancing cooperation in key areas such as agriculture, security, education, health, youth engagement and employment, innovation, and energy transition. Onanuga described the visit as an important step towards expanding partnership opportunities that will bring significant benefits to Nigeria.

Tinubu and his wife, Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu, will be received in France on Thursday at the historic Les Invalides military museum and the Élysée Palace by President Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron, where the visit will begin with formal ceremonies followed by bilateral discussions.

During the trip, President Tinubu and President Macron will discuss initiatives aimed at increasing youth exchange programs, with a focus on skills development in areas like automation, entrepreneurship, innovation, and leadership. The two leaders will also engage in meetings covering finance, trade, solid minerals, investment, and communication.

Additionally, the visit will feature a session hosted by the France-Nigeria Business Council to explore private sector participation in Nigeria’s economic development. The First Ladies, Brigitte Macron and Oluremi Tinubu, will also meet to discuss initiatives focused on empowering women, children, and vulnerable groups through Nigeria’s Renewed Hope Initiative.

Before concluding the visit, President Macron will host President Tinubu and his wife at a state dinner. Top government officials will accompany the Nigerian president during the trip.
