In a post on X, the former presidential candidate questioned why Nigerians continue to suffer at the hands of bandits and kidnappers despite the government’s obligations. Adebayo emphasized that if President Bola Tinubu, Nuhu Ribadu, the Nigeria Police, and the DSS are willing, they have the necessary resources to bring an end to kidnapping in the FCT, and he suggested that the government might be complicit in the issue.

Recent incidents, including a bandit attack and abduction in Bwari Area Council of the FCT, as well as the invasion of Hilltop Phase 2 Extension of the Nigerian Army Post-Housing Estate where the wife of prominent lawyer Barrister Cyril Adikwu and two others were abducted, highlight the escalating security challenges in the region. Despite the presence of the military in the estate, the armed kidnappers successfully abducted the victims after shooting sporadically to intimidate residents.
