Tinubu Reacts To Presidential Primaries: ‘I Am Very Satisfied With The Process

The President made the remarks on Saturday shortly after casting his vote at the APC presidential primaries held at Ikoyi-Obalende Ward L2 in Lagos State.

He noted that the exercise reflects broad participation by party members at the grassroots level in selecting leaders and representatives.

Tinubu arrived at the venue alongside the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, and was received by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, APC leaders, and other top party officials.

He commended party members for their peaceful conduct and active participation throughout the process, describing the primaries as well-organised from the ward level through to local government stages.

According to him, governors and party officials across the states ensured proper delegate accreditation, membership registration, and other electoral procedures were conducted smoothly.

Tinubu said the exercise demonstrates a healthy democratic culture within the APC, where members at all levels have the opportunity to contribute to decision-making.

He added that the party remains committed to sustaining open and inclusive democratic practices that allow members to freely choose candidates for various positions, stressing that grassroots participation is key to strengthening democracy.

The President also praised electoral officials, party leaders, and security agencies for maintaining peace and order during the primaries nationwide.

He urged Nigerians to continue supporting democratic institutions and efforts aimed at promoting national unity and political stability.

Reaffirming his administration’s commitment, Tinubu said the government will continue to advance policies and good governance initiatives designed to improve the lives of citizens.

He stated: *“This is a demonstration of internal democracy, and it has been going on very well according to plan. This is grassroots politics where every member of the party has the right to participate.

“It shows that we have internal democracy and it’s peaceful and well organised.

“I am very satisfied that Governors have done well in their various states, from the ward congresses to Local Government congresses to the delegate accreditation, validation, membership registration and the certification of the electoral process.
