Nadabo attributed the multiple accidents to speeding and dangerous driving, leading to a temporary halt in motorists’ movement. He assured that the road was now clear after the prompt response of the Zebra 35 Rigachikun rescue team.

The initial investigation indicated the involvement of a Toyota bus traveling from Ilesha to Batsari, Katsina State, at high speed. The driver lost control, colliding with another moving vehicle and causing the crash.

Expressing sadness over the incident, Nadabo emphasized that most accidents on the highway involved motorists from outside Kaduna State, often due to fatigue. As the lead agency in transport management and road safety, the FRSC in Kaduna State pledged to continue its duty of saving lives and creating awareness on road safety issues.

Highlighting the critical nature of Kaduna State as a corridor, he stressed the establishment of safety measures for transporters during the Yuletide season and beyond. He urged stakeholders, especially transport unions, to advocate for safety and collaborate in educating drivers on safe travel practices.

Nadabo also revealed ongoing efforts to work with media outlets to disseminate information on the dangers of dangerous driving, overloading, worn-out tires, fatigue from long journeys, and more. He appealed to all road users to adhere to safe driving ethics consistently.
