This development was made public in a statement issued on Friday in Abuja by Olumide Bamiduro, Director of the Federation of Elite Athletes at the NSC.
Bamiduro emphasized that these changes align with the vision of NSC Chairman Shehu Dikko and Director-General Bukola Olopade to enhance sports administration in the country.
“This move reflects our commitment to optimizing the functionality and efficiency of sports federations,” Bamiduro stated.
The reshuffle is a deliberate step to create a more innovative and sustainable framework for sports development, focusing on grassroots growth, elite athlete performance, and economic expansion.
“The mandate is clear. We are making these changes to drive the growth of the sports economy by attracting private and corporate investments,” Bamiduro explained.
The Federation Establishment and Appointment Department has been tasked with ensuring the smooth execution of the new assignments, reflecting the NSC’s dedication to transformative leadership.
Focus on Development and Innovation
The reassigned secretaries and officers will play crucial roles in advancing the NSC’s goals, driving innovation, and fostering both grassroots and elite sports development.
“These changes are aimed at steering the sports sector towards a new direction, focused on sustainable growth and excellence,” Bamiduro added.
The affected sports federations include Athletics, Basketball, Badminton, Boxing, Cricket, Table Tennis, Volleyball, Wrestling, and several others.
