Two Brothers Caught For Murdering Man Accused Of Witchcraft
The Adamawa State Police Command has apprehended two men accused of murdering a man named Umaru. According to SP Suleiman Nguroje, the Police Public Relations Officer for the state, Adamu stated that Umaru was not originally a witch but turned to witchcraft after losing all his cattle. Adamu claimed that Umaru had expressed intentions to use witchcraft to kill his father and inherit his cattle.
Nguroje explained that Adamu recounted how Umaru, unable to succeed in his plan to kill his father, began using witchcraft against Adamu’s children. Umaru allegedly killed Adamu’s daughter, Hurera, and later Mumuni.
Adamu admitted to retaliating by attacking Umaru with a machete four times, while his brother, Manu, beat him with sticks, resulting in Umaru’s death.
