Wike Blasts ADCIn A Viral Comment
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has downplayed the adoption of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) by opposition politicians.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Tuesday, Wike insisted that the ADC’s move does not qualify as a coalition, stressing that the defection of individuals from one party to another cannot be described as such.
The former Rivers State Governor pointed to the 2014 merger of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), and some members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which produced the All Progressives Congress (APC), as a true example of a coalition.
According to him, “There’s no coalition. What is coalition? You can only call it a coalition when CPC, ACN and some PDP members came together to form another party. That you can call a coalition.”
Wike also noted that the results of the recent by-elections in 13 states proved that Nigerians are not rallying behind the ADC.
He added that it is not enough for those parading themselves as coalition members—many of whom previously held political offices—to make promises without presenting a credible track record.
