Addressing Directors within the FCTA, Wike urged swift action on the payment process for contractors involved in various projects across the FCT, stressing the need to prevent unwarranted delays in project execution.

During the commencement of the Gaba-Tokula road construction, spanning 7.2 kilometers in Bwari Area Council, the minister emphasized the urgency of expediting payments without unnecessary bureaucratic bottlenecks.

Wike underscored the importance of avoiding bureaucratic red tape, stating, “This is not a time to introduce bureaucracy into our operations. If a file comes to you for contractor payments, it should not linger in your office for weeks. Beware of any action that hinders the smooth progress of this project, as it will position you as an adversary to the people.”

He continued, “Take these matters seriously. Process and approve contractor payments promptly when the files reach your desk. Delays in payment adversely affect the communities, and I will not tolerate such negligence. Those who undermine our efforts will face consequences; consider yourselves forewarned.
