PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, made the allegation on Wednesday while addressing journalists in Abuja.

Reacting to a claim by Bashir Ahmad, former media aide to late ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, Ologunagba argued that many of the defections being celebrated by the APC are not voluntary but rather driven by “harassment, inducement, coercion, and intimidation.” He stressed that such defections would not stand the test of time.

Naija News recalls that Ahmad had claimed via his verified X handle on Tuesday, October 7, that the Governor of Taraba State and another governor from the North West were on the verge of formally joining the APC.

Ologunagba, however, maintained that the PDP is stronger than individual members, noting that while some politicians may leave, new ones continue to join the party.

He said, “A party is not about individuals but about the people. Today, more and more diverse groups are working with the PDP. Many are also returning because the party is rebuilding itself.

“The defections you are seeing today are clearly induced and engineered by intimidation and coercion. They are unsustainable and will not last.”
