Wike made the statement during a thank-you visit to the people of Khana in Bori, Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State.
He explained that the visit was not politically motivated but meant to appreciate the community for its support for him and President Bola Tinubu.
According to the former Rivers governor, leadership should reflect the will of the people rather than serve personal interests.
“We will not repeat the same mistake at the state level in 2027. When the time is right, we will speak more on it,” he said.
He urged residents to remain united and follow the direction of their leaders, adding that collective action would determine their political future.
Wike praised the people of Khana for standing by President Tinubu during the 2023 elections despite widespread uncertainty, noting that their loyalty had already yielded tangible benefits.
He cited improved road infrastructure, the establishment of the University of Environment, and increased federal appointments in Ogoniland as outcomes of the president’s goodwill, adding that more opportunities were still on the way.
The minister further stated that going forward, Rivers residents would prioritise loyalty and unity over party affiliation, aligning with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda to drive the state’s development.
