The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Gregory Obi has condemned the abuse on Pastor Enoch Adeboye by his supporters dubbed “Obidients”.

For the first time since the presidential campaign, Obi is condemning the online abuse by his supporters Soludo refers to as “headless mobs”. Obi went further to deny his supporters for them not to redraw support as he claimed they are opposition party members disguising themselves as Obidient.

In his words, he said:

“The use of subterfuge by people masquerading as Obidients to abuse and insult eminent personalities like Most Reverend Pastor Enoch Adeboye or anyone else is most unacceptable. Obidients are by and large, law-abiding citizens.”

“While differences of opinion are normal, calculated efforts to create ethnic or religious chasm all in the name of politics should not in any way be tolerated. As a person, I eschew name-calling, insults, and abuses, likewise most of my supporters.”

“The suggestion that some in the fringes engage in such conduct casually overlooks the fact that the political opposition deploys such methods to gain undue advantage and create confusion and bad blood. – PO”

This comes after the Former Anambra State Governor paid a courtesy visit to the Wole Soyinka after the Nobel Laureate was abused by his supporters for tagging them as “Fascist”.

Obi’s claim is absurd and awkward and an act of hypocrisy as everybody knows that the “Obidients” are the most toxic people in Nigeria’s political space. Seun Kuti, Pastor Paul Adefarasin, Reno Omokri, Tinubu, Atiku, Supporters of APC, and Eniola Badmus are good examples of people who have suffered severe abuse from the “Obidients”.

In justifying my claims recall a few days back the President-elect and Wike were dragged on the micro-blogging platform for claiming he will leave Sanwo-Olu to banter with the Rivers State Gov. Tinubu went further to say that he is not concerned about what they say on the internet because they are nothing he has not been called. Moreover, during the presidential campaign, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu left the social media space completely due to multiple cases of abuse from the same people Obi is denying to be opposition supporters.

Indeed Tinubu said it during the campaign season “that before the cork crows Peter will deny you three times”. You cant sow IPOB traits, abuse, and insults and reap ASO ROCK PRESIDENTIAL VILLA, EAGLE 001 and other privileges allowed only by the president.
