Una Wan Steal Our Money?— UBA Customers Fume As App Remains Down
Customers of United Bank for Africa (UBA) have expressed frustration on social media after reportedly being unable to access their accounts and carry out transactions through the bank’s mobile application.
Several affected customers took to X to complain that the UBA mobile app had remained inaccessible since Sunday, leaving many of them struggling to access their funds and complete essential transactions.
Some customers said they had resorted to alternative channels, including Automated Teller Machines (ATMs), USSD services and physical bank branches, in an attempt to carry out transactions while the reported disruption persisted.
The situation has also raised concerns among some users who alleged that the bank’s mobile application has experienced similar disruptions several times in recent months.
According to the affected customers, the repeated outages have made digital banking increasingly difficult, particularly for users who depend on the application for transfers, balance checks, payments and other everyday financial activities.
As of the time of filing this report, UBA had not publicly disclosed the cause of the reported outage or provided a specific timeline for the restoration of normal services on its mobile application.
Reacting to the development, one customer, @FalolaOpeyemi5, expressed frustration over being unable to use the application for more than 24 hours and questioned why the problem had persisted.
Another user, @HoshOdyssey, claimed the app had been inaccessible for more than 24 hours and demanded an explanation from the bank, while another customer described the continued disruption as unacceptable for a major financial institution.
Some other customers also complained about the lack of communication regarding the situation, with users calling on the bank to provide an update and resolve the problem.
One customer, @Gigi_SaidWhat, said the inability to access the app had left her worried about meeting her daily needs, while @Amaray252 claimed the application had remained inaccessible for several days despite trying different mobile networks.
Another user, @PetrJoe, said he had attempted to reinstall the application after initially assuming his version was outdated but still could not gain access.
The complaints have continued to generate reactions online, with affected customers urging the bank to urgently address the reported technical issues and provide clear information about when full access to the mobile banking platform would be restored.
