Legal Trouble For Sterling As Former England Star Appears In Court Over M3 Crash

Former England international Raheem Sterling has appeared in court after being charged in connection with a single-vehicle crash involving his £270,000 Lamborghini on the M3 motorway in Hampshire.

According to Bush Radio Academy, the 31-year-old footballer, who is currently without a club, faces three charges arising from the incident, including dangerous driving, possession of nitrous oxide for wrongful inhalation and failing to provide a specimen.

The crash occurred on the southbound M3 near the Minley Interchange in Hampshire on May 28, 2026. Police were alerted shortly before 9am after motorists reportedly noticed a black luxury 4×4 swerving across the motorway.

Sterling was subsequently arrested near the interchange close to Farnborough. No other vehicle was involved in the incident, while no injuries were reported.

The charges were confirmed by the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary, with the former Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea winger now facing legal proceedings over the incident.

Sterling, who has represented England at international level and enjoyed spells with several top Premier League clubs, is currently a free agent following his departure from club football.

The court appearance marks another development in the case as proceedings continue over the circumstances surrounding the motorway crash.
