Garus Gololo, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has dismissed the possibility of Abiodun Faleke, a House of Representatives member, succeeding former Nasarawa State governor Adamu Abdullahi as the party’s National Chairman.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

This comes after Adamu and Senator Iyiola Omisore resigned from their positions of National Chairman and National Secretary, respectively, due to pressure from stakeholders.

Taking up the role in an acting capacity is Abubakar Kyari, the Deputy National Chairman (North). As discussions continue on the next National Chairman, several candidates from the North-Central region, including former Nasarawa State governor Tanko Al-Makura, former Niger State governor Abu Lolo, former Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State Silas Ali Agara, and a former governor of Plateau State, have emerged as potential successors to Adamu.

Gololo firmly opposed the candidacy of Faleke for the National Chairman position, citing his representation of Lagos State in the National Assembly, despite his origin in Kogi State.

According to Gololo, having both the President and the party chairman from Lagos State would not be feasible.

When asked about the likely successor to Adamu, Gololo emphasized that it would be a party decision, but he supports retaining the National Chairmanship in the North-Central region, possibly with Tanko Al-Makura or Sani Musa from Niger State in mind.

Regarding the National Secretary position, Gololo expressed the need for fairness, suggesting that the next Secretary should come from the South-East to balance the power equation within the party.

As the President hails from the South-West, Gololo believes that appointing the Secretary from the South-East would be a more equitable approach.
