The Nigerian Army confirmed the rescue of Lydia Simon, a Chibok girl, along with her three children after being held captive by terrorists for a decade.
The troops, as part of Counter-terrorism and Counter-insurgency operations in the North Central region, neutralized three terrorists who were planning an attack in Zaki-Biam, Benue State. Lydia, who was pregnant at the time of her rescue, was rescued by troops conducting Operation Desert Sanity III in Ngoshe, Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State.
Additionally, troops successfully ambushed and neutralized three terrorists armed with AK 47 rifles and recovered weapons in Tse Kpese Community, Zaki Biam Local Government of Benue State. The Nigerian Army reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the nation by taking decisive actions against terrorist activities.
