Danish shipping and logistics giant AP Moller-Maersk has affirmed its commitment to invest more than $500 million in the enhancement of Nigeria’s port infrastructure. The company’s decision comes amidst discussions and some contention regarding an agreement between APM Terminals and the Federal Government concerning its proposed investment in Nigeria’s port sector.
In a statement titled “Our Vision For Nigerian Ports and Growth,” Keith Svendsen, the Chief Executive Officer of APM Terminals, emphasized the company’s strong belief in the future prospects of the Nigerian economy. He revealed that APMT is nearing the completion of a $115 million upgrade project in Onne, Rivers State.
