Rivers Crisis Escalates: Asari Dokubo Criticizes Wike, Alleges Political Manipulation....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Former Niger Delta militant, Asari Dokubo, has accused the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, of overstepping his bounds in the ongoing political turmoil in Rivers State, particularly in his clash with Governor Siminalayi Fubara. Dokubo’s criticism, captured in a surfaced video, extends to President Bola Tinubu, whom he accuses of granting Wike excessive control over Rivers and Bayelsa states.

“He is now playing god. It is dead on arrival, all those things that he is doing,” Dokubo asserted in the video, expressing his discontent.

“I advise my friend, President Bola Tinubu; what you are doing to all Ijaw, Ikwerre people in Rivers State (sic). You took Rivers state and gave it one man,” he added.

While Governor Fubara boasts of significant economic progress during his tenure, including a surge in monthly Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) from N12 billion to N27 billion, Dokubo alleges that the governor initially had access to only N6 billion when he took office.

“The governor had come out to say that the IGR for Rivers State is now N25bn up from N12bn. The governor is even being economical with the truth. When the governor came in, they were giving him a paltry sum of N6bn,” he commented.

Governor Fubara recently announced plans to establish a panel of inquiry to scrutinize governance affairs in the state, coinciding with the swearing-in of Dagogo Iboroma, SAN, as the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Rivers State. This move comes amid criticisms directed at the former Attorney General, Prof. Zacchaeus Adangor, SAN, who recently resigned from his position.

The political landscape in Rivers State remains turbulent, with tensions between key figures like Wike and Fubara attracting national attention and sparking debates on governance and power dynamics in the region.
