In a communiqué released after the meeting, NARD President Dr. Dele Abdullahi Olaitan, Secretary General Dr. Anaduaka Christopher Obinna, and Public and Special Secretary Dr. Egbe John Jonah collectively agreed to a two-week deadline for these payments. They warned that failure to comply would trigger a nationwide strike by the resident doctors.

The association also called for an end to the casualization of doctors and advocated for more secure and equitable employment terms within the healthcare sector. Additionally, NARD emphasized the need to integrate all healthcare facilities into the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS) to enhance payroll efficiency.

NARD has taken a strong stance against assaults on medical practitioners, announcing that any such incidents would lead to an immediate withdrawal of medical services until the safety of the affected area is restored. They urged the National Assembly to enact laws criminalizing assaults on healthcare workers.

Furthermore, the association is pushing for a reduction in examination fees for the West African Colleges of Surgeons and Physicians. This measure would help resident doctors register and continue their education and specialization without financial burden
