Adeleke Jets To UK For Medical Check-Up After Re-Election Victory

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has travelled out of Nigeria for a short break following the conclusion of the state’s governorship election.

Adeleke reportedly departed the country on Sunday, September 6, 2026, for a trip that will include a period of rest and medical checks in the United Kingdom, according to his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed.

Rasheed disclosed that the governor would also visit other European destinations during the trip, although the specific locations were not made public.

The duration of Adeleke’s stay outside the country was not disclosed, but his office said he would return to his official duties after the break.

The governor’s trip comes shortly after he secured re-election in Osun State, defeating the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji.

Adeleke’s office explained that the vacation would provide an opportunity for the governor to rest and prepare for the next phase of his administration.

The governor was quoted as saying that he was taking a brief break to refresh himself and prepare to continue serving the people of Osun State.

The development comes as Adeleke prepares to begin another term in office following his victory in the recently concluded governorship election.
