Aisha Yesufu Criticizes EFCC’s Decision To Employ Ex-Cyber Fraud Suspect For Cybercrime Awareness Campaign

DAILY POST recalls that Adeherself was apprehended by the EFCC in June 2020 on charges of cyber fraud and was subsequently granted bail in the amount of N500,000 by an Ikeja Special Offences Court in July.

She was charged with three counts, including conspiracy to obtain money through false pretenses, attempted fraudulent financial gain, and the retention of proceeds from criminal activities.
Nevertheless, the EFCC has now introduced Adeherself as a contributor to its campaign against corruption and has enlisted her to advise NYSC members to avoid engaging in cybercrime.
In an official statement posted on its platform, the anti-graft agency disclosed that Adeherself served as a speaker during an awareness program organized by the commission at the NYSC orientation camp located in Iyana Ipaja, Lagos.
Aisha Yesufu, in response to these developments on her official platform, remarked, “In Nigeria, major crimes appear to go unpunished, while minor offenses are heavily penalized.”
